Sohar Port & Freezone internship Project

Oman Hydrogen Centre – (OHC) arranged a visit on Thursday (Dec 18) morning to Sohar Port & Freezone to attend the final presentation of the student exchange program sponsored by the Soharport and hosted by OHC. The project supervised by 4 different institutions: Soharport & Freezone, OHC, Hy-Fly Alliance and TU Delft university. The project is about conducting a pre-feasibility study to provide the port with green hydrogen. Tomas Walker Costa who is the supervisor from the port and the technical advisor at Hydrom, started the session with an introduction about the green hydrogen and how it can affect the industries and the port. He also, explained the role of Hydrom to orchestrate and oversee the future green hydrogen project in Oman. Sausan Al-Riyami, (Sc.D) the director of OHC, then delivered a short speech about the role of OHC in supporting green hydrogen roadmap in Oman. The students did an amazing performance showing the results of the project. Different concepts were investigated by the students. They also showed what they did not learn technical skill but the internship give them chance to learn and interact with other different cultures. The group was then invited to visit the exhibition inside the port which shows the facilities and types of industries, imports and exports in the port. We looking forward for our future cooporation.
