Monaco Hydrogen Forum-2023

The Monaco Hydrogen Alliance is a non-profit association governed by Monegasque law, dedicated to advancing the utilization of green hydrogen in land, air, and maritime transportation. The alliance’s overarching objective is to play a pivotal role in mitigating the environmental footprint of mobility within our societies through the widespread adoption of renewable hydrogen.

The second edition of the Monaco Hydrogen Forum was held on November 27-28, 2023. This forum was served as a significant platform for thought leaders and stakeholders to convene and deliberate on strategies and innovations aimed at furthering the integration of green hydrogen across various modes of transportation, thereby contributing to the principal goal of sustainable and environmentally conscious mobility solutions.

Dr. Sausan Al Riyami, the Director of the Oman Hydrogen Centre (OHC), was privileged to contribute significantly to the 2nd Monaco Hydrogen Alliance forum, serving as both a moderator and speaker across three pivotal sessions held in Monte-Carlo, Monaco, from the 27th to the 28th of November this year. Her active participation extended to being a featured a key invited speaker at the Monaco Hydrogen Forum, a distinguished international platform renowned for delving into the latest advancements in hydrogen technologies.

During the intensive program Dr. Al-Riyami highlighted Sultanate of Oman considerable potential for hydrogen production and endorsed its faithful commitment to fostering a sustainable hydrogen economy. Presenting a comprehensive session titled “Oman from Vision to Action: Leading the Green Hydrogen Revolution. Additionally, she joined as panelists and was provided a nuanced exploration of Oman’s trajectory. She also participated as a panelist in a crucial discussion centered on “Strategy and Sector-specific Deep Dive.” Dr. Al-Riyami concluded her contributions by expertly moderating a session focused on “Hydrogen Storage: Tackling Low Energy-Density Constraints and Creating the Long-Term Vision.”

Dr. Sausan Al-Riyami further shared invaluable insights into OHC’s ongoing research and development initiatives by the team, emphasizing the Centre’s dedication to formulating cost-effective and scalable hydrogen production technologies. Furthermore, she elaborated on OHC’s initiatives aimed at fostering collaboration among industry, academia, and government stakeholders, thereby expediting Oman’s transition to hydrogen. She intensively highlighted the Centre’s pivotal role and focus areas on the global paradigm shift towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources, thereby showcasing OHC’s unwavering commitment to making a lasting impact on the worldwide transition to cleaner energy.
