On the 11th of September Dr. Sausan Al-Riyami, Director of the Oman Hydrogen Centre, was invited as a speaker at the MED2024 Regional Meeting at KAPSARC in Riyadh, where key figures from the Arabian Gulf and the European Union gathered to address energy transition and climate action. The roundtable, held under the framework of Mediterranean Dialogues 2024 (MED2024), aimed to strengthen collaboration between these regions, particularly in the fields of sustainable energy, technology, and innovation.
The event fostered valuable dialogue on how both Gulf and EU nations are progressing toward their energy and climate targets. Central to these discussions were sustainable energy infrastructures, market integration, and the establishment of green supply chains, all aimed at fostering economic growth and environmental sustainability across both regions. Notably, green hydrogen emerged as a transformative technology, underscoring its potential to reshape global energy landscapes.
Prominent speakers from the GCC and leading European think tanks contributed their expertise to implementing sustainable energy strategies and forging lasting partnerships in energy innovation. Discussions ranged from energy policy and market integration to the role of cutting-edge technologies in achieving ambitious climate goals.
