Oman Hydrogen Centre had the pleasure of attending an event on renewable energy hosted by The Omani French Friendship Association (OFA) in association with TotalEnergies On Tuesday, November 5, 2022, at Crown Plaza Al Qurum.
Where the conference was titled “To what extent can Solar & Hydrogen play in the energy transition?” featured current projects and future plans in Oman in the solar and hydrogen sectors.
The panel discussion was moderated by Mohammed al Riyami, Business Support Manager of TotalEnergies.
Abdulaziz al Shidhani, DG Renewable Energy & Hydrogen at the Ministry of Energy & Minerals, provided the keynote address for the panel discussion.
While panel moderator Sergio Giorgi, Country Chair of TotalEnergies Oman, spoke to the panel about his global perspective on this expanding green industry, Georgio Akiki, Gas, Renewables & Power Key Account Manager Oman of TotalEnergies, described the solar project already in operation in the country.
Zakariya al Battashi and Yann Bourles, project developers for renewable energy at TotalEnergies, spoke about the trends we expect to see in the near future and beyond.
Stephan Gobert, SVP HydrogenAMEA, discussed how hydrogen will impact Oman’s journey toward energy transition (ENGIE).
